poplars
hey all, the specs for this machine are in my sig. anyways, I have a near-perfect install other than this one annoying issue, after my desktop is on for 5 hours + it gets very slow/sluggish. I'm thinking this is due to my GeForce 6600GT, I've been told that a 7600GT would be more desirable driver wise and performance wise. I'm also thinking that my processor could possibly be to blame, but I don't really think so as this sluggishness isn't present when the system first boots. I'm using uphuck 10.4.9 1.4i R3 I'm pretty sure I'm using natit 0.1 or natit 0.2, one of them gave me better performance in xbench than titan. so I'm just posting this to ask of someone to either confirm or deny my suspicions. thanks to those who take the time to view this thread. zurk
have a speedstep kernel ? it may be reducing the FSB speed to the lowest and not ramping it back up. try running cputhrottle and see what yur bus speed is set to.
N!CK
I have this issue somtimes, but mine is heat. Does yours get hot? I experience the slowing from the heat only in OS X then I boot into Winzoz without giveing it time to cool and it runs fine. So i don't know what about OS X slows when it gets hot that doesn't make winzoz slow when hot. (except Windows is already slow, so maybe it's not possible for it to slow anymore XD)
