Hi,

I tried to install 10.4.7, 10.4.8 and 10.4.10...they all install fine, but wont boot. I am currently running Ubuntu and was wondering if anyone could make sense of this?? I think it is telling me that my motherboard is a VIA PT800?? Sorry it's so long....

OK, after downloading 3 different releases of OSX086 and reading TONS of posts here, I finally got it to boot.

After the install, it would show the Apple logo, and then a screen would come up saying "You need to reboot your computer...". But it would just do this over and over again. I read in a post to hit F8 with the dvd in the drive and type "rd=disk0s1". Well, much to my surprise it BOOTED UP!!! WOW!!!!

But....as always, there are but'sNone of my other hard drives are recognized. The ethernet card doesn't seems to work.Is the only way to get it to boot, to enter "rd=disk0s1" in every time!?!?!? It seems like i have been reading for ages, but most posts relate to newer hardware so I was starting to think that mine wouldn't work.

Can anyone help me out??? What do I do next?? Or, is there another release I should try? I have been reading about the XXX release. It seems to be good for Intel SSE2 machines....From my the info I got from Ubuntu, I think thats what I have.

I'd be greatful for your help....Cheers.

Ohh, and the install I finally got working is the Jas 10.4.8 Intel/AMD SSE2/SSE3 & PPF1&2.
