  1. I just spent a few hours fixing a seemingly similar problem, so i thought i'd give this a go. I have the same issue....long wait for USB keyboard and mouse to start working on boot. Was that the solution, deleting said kext? Cheers.
  2. Kernel Panic Question

I think I got it. I was working from the root folder, but actually all you mentioned had to be done off my users folder. It just booted normally, anxious to reboot and see what happens again but it seems ok! Thank you so much for your help. I've learned a lot thanks to you. Cheers and have a very merry Christmas!! Edit: Yahoo! It booted up again! Thanks again for your help.
  3. Kernel Panic Question

First I just wanted to say thank you for your help! I was unable to boot with those flags so I used a USB installer. I can get to the terminal app, but can't seem to delete the caches as it says its a READ ONLY file system. Cheers.
  4. Kernel Panic Question

I can't boot with -s -v, the system still freezes. Can I do the suggested via the terminal.app? Will I be able to delete the files when I'm not a valid 'user'?
  5. Kernel Panic Question

Thank you for the quick reply! One more question...I'm not sure what that kext is as I didn't install it. I haven't added any in months. I logged in via installer USB, and used the terminal app to go to /System/Library/Extensions, but I can't find that file? Any ideas where I should look? Cheers.
  6. Kernel Panic Question

Hi, I am running 10.7.4 on a GA-P35-DS3 with a core2duo. It's been running perfectly fine until a few minutes ago when I restarted it and it won't boot, Christmas Eve movie is delayed.... Maybe 2 or 3 boots prior I connected a new drive but without issue, even after a few reboots. The last thing i did was install "Remote Buddy", then reboot. I'm not sure what caused this panic and was hoping someone could take a look at these screenshots and help me get running again. I get this when booting verbose: And this after verbose and safe: Cheers and Merry Christmas!
  7. Hmm...Still no luck. I unhooked all HDs except for the master drive. I changed all bios setting to the same as mention in the previous post. The system still starts loading Darwin and shows a bunch of extensions being loaded and then I'm guessing its at the end (seems so alphabetically) and then the system reboots without warning. Here is a picture of the stuff loading (although I'm sure everyone sees the same thing).
  8. My card is a GeForce 7600GT. I haven't made any changes to the install package. The problem occurs when booting the USB. The system is loading kexts (i think) and then just reboots without warning. It's impossible to take a picture of it happening as it happens without warning and there are no error codes shown. I will try in the morning again with different BIOS setting and see if that has any effect. Cheers.
  9. Hi, I'm trying to install on the GA-P35-DS3 (currently running 10.5.8). I built the USB without issue and when inserted in the computer I can select the USB and boot from it. Files are loading on the screen, but then after a minute or two the system just reboots without displaying any errors. I never get to any graphical installation part....just a verbose listing of files that are loading. I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas why the system would be abruptly rebooting. Cheers EDIT: Are there any special BIOS settings? Should I unplug all hard drives except the master?
  10. Running a GA-P35-DS3 board with 2GB ram and a Core2Duo Intel E4500 (2.2GHz) chip. I'm currently running 10.6.8 without issue but would like to update to the newest version if possible (maybe its better where I am?) Anyways, I made the installer USB as directed in the OP and had no issues. When I reboot the computer with said USB, files start loading (can see verbose) and continues for around 30 seconds until it just restarts. I never see the installer app. It's like the installer starts to load, but then hits something and the whole cpu just reboots. Any idea?
  11. So, what did you install? The "ServerAdministrationSoftware.mpkg"??? Or is there some other files you need to install as well?? Cheers..
  12. Switch to NFS sharing and problems are gone.
  13. I am sharing some large video files via Samba to my HD player. I'm not sure what the 'limit' is, but files around 1GB show up fine while large files at around 4GB do not - They show up as being around 380MB instead of +4GB??? It is not the player. I previously had the one of the drive in my Ubuntu box (before I swapped it over) and they were sharing and playing fine.... Like I said, I'm not sure what the file size is that the errors start at, but for sure 4.1GB only show up as 380MB. It's the first 380MB as the videos play fine for 10 minutes or so, and then quit. Can any one help me out with this??? Got an idea?? Cheers Edit: Not that it matters with samba, but the drive are formatted in MacOS Extended, and Ext2....incase anyone is wondering.
  14. Adding Another Hard Drive

I don't know what to do. I think I am going to have to buy a new 500GB drive and backup the whole drive to it and then reformat it at HFS and copy everything back. I can read everthing, but it seems impossible to write......
  15. Adding Another Hard Drive

Anyone tried the same thing??? Ideas?? Thanks
