I`m trying to install OSX86 on my new ASUS A7S 7S056C but the boot-process stops after this line in the -v mode: "Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers" I tried diffrent DVDs, burned on DVD-R: - tub_Osx10410_AMDVM_SSE3 (10.4.10 Update + netkas sse3/kernel + secupdate-06 + iTunes 7.3.1 + QuickTime7.2 + Java Release5 5.0) - uphuck_10.4.9_v1.4i_r2 - an older 10.4 Image - here the Laptop just reboots after a few seconds... Maybe with which DVD-Image it could work or which boot-parameters i should use (tried -v, -x, -s) and so on... Thx for helping! sol-invictus Posted September 28, 2007 Author Share Posted September 28, 2007 i just got the uphuck_10.4.9_v1.4i_r3 image -> still no success, reboots allways, but with "cpus=1 -v" it hangs as usual: "Using xxxxx buffer headers and xxxx cluster IO buffer headers" Generally a saw threads concerning ICH8 and ICH8R Southbridges, i have the ICH8M - is that the problem why it hangs? maybe with the PM965 Chipset? or the additional JMicron 20360/20363 AHCI SATA Controller? The Problem i have that the DVDs not even start up to the install-interface... Does anyone have a similar laptop/configuration with some suggestions? sol-invictus Posted September 29, 2007 Author Share Posted September 29, 2007 So, today i tried another dvd-image 10.4.6.install.dvd - but with same result like the others: reboots allways, with option "cpus=1 -v" it hangs on "Using xxxxx buffer headers and xxxx cluster IO buffer headers" (this time the first buffer was half of the normal size) To ask the question the other way: 1) Is there a running OSX86 on a PM965 northbridge out there? 2) Is there a running system with ICH8(M) southbridge out there? 3) Is there a OSX running with a JMicron (20360/20363) AHCI SATA Controller? If its at the blue screen, it means you have to have a moniter plugged into the vga. Tekel Posted October 3, 2007 Share Posted October 3, 2007 I'm runnin a A8JP and I just tried severl time to no success to boot OSX. I tried Koolkal 10.4.10. Mine is hangint up at different points during the boot. It generally hangs at "Couldn't read user-specified local hostname; using default bMacintosh-001A9243FG72.locallb instead." and all hd activity stops 1 time I turned away and looked back only to see my entire screen covered with vertical white lines about 3 pixels wide. This is an external vendor: Marvell. How to Patch?
