Hi,

I will try to be yo the point. I have a 500 gig sata hd. I've made 2 partitions of 50% each. First one is an an macintosh fs and second one is ntfs. The first one is active and os x (XxX_OSX86 10.4.10 Install DVD release) is succesfully installed and running on it.

Afterwards I install XP. Since then a cannot boot anymore except with OS X install dvd in the drive. If I remove the second (XP) partition with the disk utility in mac os x then I continuously receive a message saying it cannot find the com.apple.boot.plist, but when I hit F8 I can choose the first partition and boot again.

I tried several solutions mentioned here on the forum, as with the chain0 method and also with the terminal and fdisk for changing the active partition but still no go :(

How do I have to proceed as I'm stuck and would like to have xp beside os x as I need it for Visual Studio? Many thanks!

I suppose that the second xp partion wants to boot, but as the windows bootloader doesn't reckonize the first mac partition (which is active) it cannot boot. Setting the second partition to active doesn't change anything. That's why I also receive the message "No operating system found". How can I make the hd boot with the darwin boot loader and make sure it's sees both partitions so that I can choose from which one to boot?

Suggestion: Could I use grub instead (form gentoo minimal cd) to make a bootloader for boot os's?
