djRICKYsi
Hey what's up guys, I was pretty pumped when I found out about this project. I threw a computer together, Al l the parts are on the hardware list so I am pretty sure everything should work well. I have two hard drives on one of them I have Windows XP and the other I left blank for OSX86, I got it all ready to install on my PS and when I try to format my other Hard drive to install. It does not show up on The *{censored} Utilities* It only shows my Disk drives. Both hard drives are hooked up Via Serial ATA, two are 80 gig. What do you think the problem I, u think it's the SATA ? or something else, and for a stupid question that I feel dumb asking, can I boot off of my 250g Lacie drive and just run it on that worst case. Memory: G.SKILL Value: 2GB Moutherboard:ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Socket 939 ULi M1695 ATX AMD CPU:AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice Video Card:eVGA 256-P2-N386 Geforce 6800GS 256MB Hard drive:Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6L080M0 80GB SATA Disck drive: BenQ Black DvD+- RW Any help would be great guys, Thanks a lot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6451-stumped/ Share on other sites

sigxcpu
Maybe your SATA chipset is not supported. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6451-stumped/#findComment-40267 Share on other sites
plasm
Disk utility will not format it for you, your best bet is to do it in Windows, which you can, thats how I did it. Also, which installation version is it? You can find out how to use diskpart, which is Window's built-in command line partition utility here. Good luck.
