skyhighmac
Probably for the macbook pro with the led backlight. No rumors of an upcoming one, but wait till after leopard so you don't have to spend an extra $130 a month after you just bought your mac book. Numberzz
Honestly, this is why apple has their MacWorld on January 9th. I would wait until after MacWorld because my old iMac G5(iSight) was obsolete by the time I bought it, it really got me down. iRoy
Madhur, Your question/concern about a possible MacBook Pro update has impelled me to make my first ever post on this excellent forum - until now I've been content just to absorb the wealth of knowledge made available by the many expert contributions. Not that I'm now ready to impart an expert or well informed solution to your quandary but I did come across a particular snippet on MacRumors stating that an updated version of the MacBook Pro is rumoured to be announced at Macworld Expo 2008 - as alluded to by Numberz: http://www.macrumors.com/2007/09/20/macwor...r-registration/ Following links in the above article, you'll come across suggestions as to what the updated MacBook Pros may include such as the Penryn processor. You're looking to buy after the release of Leopard (assuming it does indeed hit the store shelves in October or thereabouts) so you probably needn't be concerned in that respect unless you have compelling reasons to stay with Tiger. I'm also keen to purchase a MacBook Pro specifically with a 17inch 1900 x 1200 display for development purposes so I'm also considering the value of the Hardware Purchase Program via an ADC Select Membership. Purchasing in the UK, it means I'll be paying £329 (about $660) for ADC Select but then I'll get some discount on the MacBook Pro (and any other kit that could reasonably be considered to be for development purposes). Right now I'm pretty busy working on other stuff and not in a desperate hurry so I'll probably wait until after the Macworld Expo announcements. However, though I can't imagine Apple will stop producing MacBook Pros with the non-glare 17inch 1900 x 1200 displays any time soon, if say for commercial reasons they did so at the next upgrade, I'd definitely be looking round for the 'old' model. Cheers, Roy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64353-new-macbooks-macbook-pros/#findComment-458067 Share on other sites
Yami Bakura
I think the new MacBooks will come out in October and will be: aluminum, have a block border around the display (just like the Aluminum iMac), LED display and will ship with Leopard.
