Hello guys, I just have the Kalyway OS X Leopard Build 9a527 burned in a DVD and installed in a notebook Dell Inspiron 1705/9400 (Core Duo 1.8Ghz, 1GB DDR2, 120GB, 17" 1920x1200 + GeForce 7900GS 256MB, Intel Wireless, etc...). Well, first of all, the FIRST installation screen loaded REALLY SLOW and unfortunately all performed VERY SLOW but I could format the partition and install the MAC OS X.

[After the system finish the installation I thought it would speed up and run smooth, unfortunately it didn't. When boot up for the first times, the mouse didn't work well, it stop responding for some seconds and then come back but just for few seconds, which makes almost impossible to use and control it. I tried to check the process and there isn't problem there, the CPU is less than 5% used.

IS there ANY thing to edit / hack / move files / copy files / or any known problem like this and fix this issue? [EDIT: This is cause by the Dell BIOS, if you're having this problem the only way is disabling the Dual-core on BIOS or open the MAC OS X with DualCore, put it sleep and wake up the system]

Thanks!

EDIT: Well, I just started to search in the forum and found out that it's a issue with Dell Intel Core Duo notebooks and if I go to the sleep mode and come back It temporarily fix the problem and now I'm looking in a permanently fix. If someone knows please let me know.

I'm still looking for the dual boot thing,... and just one more question, my sound seems to not be working, it's a Sigmatel chipset.

EDIT²: Ok, here goes another one: Why the MAC OS X seems to be locked up!? I can't EVEN move (drag) ANY icon/file/document... I can't Drag it to another window or even inside the same window... any fix? =/

Thanks uuufo for replying... well, I tried check and repair the permissions in disk utilities, it said 'done' but I still can't drag anything (files, folders, desktop icons, also can't COPY/PASTE :wacko: )

Well... I tried to even do a disk repair... Couln't do it, so I went to the verify disk first, couldn't finish... then I boot up with install DVD, did the verify disk then the check disk... at first it found a error then it said was fixed, but still can't drag, ahhggg!... ;)

When I tried run the patch to 'fix' the Sigmatel soundcard it shows an error msg about permissions; 'doesn't have permissions to \temp folder...' (something like that, but it's an admin user with 'check permission' done in disk util)

EDIT: Ok, I was doing the "Check permissions" but it wasn't changing the /tmp permission correctly, so I did it manually, if anyone has the same problem just try it out:

sudo rm -rf /tmp

sudo ln -s /private/tmp tmp

Then you should have an output something like this:

lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 12 Jul 5 00:58 tmp -> /private/tmp

EDIT²: Now I need to finish setup the sound (sigmatel) and then I would be greatly appretiate if someone could help me with the Intel 3945 Wireless... I know that it has been impossible to use it, but we just need a driver, I'm sure that if the community's developers get together we can do that, mainly because the 2200 (?) is already working.

I resorted to just going on ebay and grabbing a dell 1490? I think, card and putting it in my laptop. Much easier fix, save yourself the headache. I think I paid 15bucks +2 bucks shipping for mine.

By the way, does sleep work out of the box with the install of the image u done?

I have gotten everything but sleep to work, o yea and the intel wireless issue. .. I am about to give up, I can not stand not having both cores working. I do not care if I have to sleep the pc just to get them working. I hate windows =/
