Macisgr3at Posted September 24, 2007 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Alright well I got my hands on a copy of OSX86 some time back and i am now attempting to install it on my dell XPS410 with 4Gigs of ram 2.4GHZ Core 2 Duo and an nVidia i dont know what video card... During the initial setup i get an error....Waiting for root device.... it keeps popping up and i get no where!!! Ive tried, cleaning the disk, removing every usb addon thats not necessary... now... the disk DOES work on my old dell...BUT its got integrated graphics so its B/W... how can i get this to work on my XPS?? My sister just dropped my iBook into the pool so i am macless... The specs of my PC go as followed XPS410 230GB Seagate SATA HDD Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 @ 2.40GHz 4GB of Dell DDR2 OEM Ram NVidia GeForce 7900 GS 256Mb Dell 22in widescreen display SATA Dual DVD Burners I also have a 250gb Lacie external HDD Logitech MX5000 Bluetooth Wireless mouse and keyboard Logitech Webcam Altec Lancing 5.1 Speakers HP Deskjet Printer Does anyone see a conflict in my harware that would keep me from installing OSX86? My copy is about 3 months old, are their any new versions available that would help me in my install I just got on and hit F8 then -V and it didnt do anything for me... I still get the same Still Waiting For Root Device deal... Please help! Thank you all! I will paypal a little flow for the one that gets me up and running lol... Thanks again! Macisgr3at Posted September 27, 2007 Author Share Posted September 27, 2007 I THINK i know what my problem is.... Sortof (still thinking about it ) My disk drives are both SATA.... Could that cause a conflict in the install? I keep hearing things about people and SATA issues but the computer recognizes the disk and i can BEGIN the process (cant get to the osx install screen though)... Anyone? Cash is still on the table!
