JeanLuc7
Hi, first I would try a Installation without any additional Harddisk - just use the one where U wanted to install OSX. Best if U use the SATA disk. Try this and repport your results. At this time: Your hardware is not very compatible to MacOS, it's not guaranteed that you will succeed. Swami the Jerk
hi Jean... i am happy if i could use my sata hdd... coz, the pata one, i had removed from my comp when i bought the sata.. but, as the installer is not detecting my sata hdd, i added this new pata do u know whether all sata hdd are supported and detected by the installer? mine is a 160 GB Seagate one and, i cant remove my hdd and install, coz, i am installing from vmware so that if any error comes i can check the net from windows which all among my hardware is not supported? so, as my sata hdd is not detected by the installer shall i proceed with a reinstall on my pata by removing the maxtor external?(maxtor is the only one i can remove, as my xp installation is on the sata.. and i need it coz, am doin it via vmware ) and one small doubt again..will wrong selection of patches create this problem? coz, unlike the jas installer screenshots i saw, this uphuck installer is not havin a patch named "sse3 patch" or "sse2 patch" .. its given all sorta weird technical names like acpibios.. or some things like tht.. so, am selecting the patches in random 10.4.9 main system... titan... via rhine.. these three i select always if i provide a screenshot of the package selection page will it be possible for you to help me select the right packages as i have provided all the harware i am having that wud be a great help... i am also downloading "Kalyway DVD 10.4.10 IntelSSE3" and "Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2] plus JaS.10.4.9.Combo.Update.Intel.SSE3" thinking whether a different dvd might help me... JeanLuc7
Hi, it is more a question about the MoBo instead of the HDD. You use the VIA chipset, which is not originally supported by Intel drivers from Tiger. So if you do not see a HDD in the Mac OS Hard disk Manager, it is because of this chipset. Try the 10.4.10 XXX-Image, it contains many drivers for SATA interfaces. Swami the Jerk
once again i tried installing uphuck... that too after doing a time consuming zero out erase everything went fine.. but while in that "running apple script" section at the end of the installation, vmware came out with an error sayin somethin like my physicaldrive1 is not accessible.. retry...abort...continue.. i clicked retry several times...nothin happened.. i clicked continue..nothing happened... at last i forcefully rebooted... and shut down VMWare.. shut down my comp too.. rebooted the comp and booted osx in verbose mode.. diskarb error camne out.. and in the end it gave up.. fine! then disk0s1 I/O error for a long time.. at least 75 times it also showed some applecpupowermanagement error... at last it gave me a blue screen with a mouse pointer.. where the registration and the configure mac thingy shud have been there.. it dint come.. waited a long time.. still nothing! then i rebooted.. into XP... opened VM... started OSX.. this time it came out with "cpu has been disabled by OS error" and when i click "OK" it gave me a kernel panic.. this is the screenshot... meagain339
When I got problems on the harddisk, I reboot using -s at the prompt. (bring you in "single user mode") Then you mount the drive using "mount -uw /" and you fix it using "fsck -fy". It works for me and I hope this can help!
