jez6345789
Hi About to give the machine a graphics card upgrade from the built in GMA 950 Thinking either a 7300 256 gs or a 7600 Gt Do not really know a lot about graphics cards except that more buck usually means more performance. In the end I want to run dual monitors but I have seen the 7600 xfx with dual DVI out but not sure what I am really looking for. I have also seen 7300 at very silly prices that might do the job. Any advice on a make and model of card that works easily with my spec listed below. many thanks Jez Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64277-graphics-upgrade-suggestions/ Share on other sites
Dacotah
I don't know about dual head, but I went from a x1600 to a 7600GT and everything works flawlessly with the 7600GT. The x1600 would not let me edit photos in iPhoto and had a few other small quirks, but mostly worked. I can't find a thing wrong with the 7600GT. At least on my system. For now. lol I bought a nVidia Geforce GF 7600 GT 256mb PCI-E for $74 off E-bay. I'd stick with 256mb as then you may avoid having to flash the card as there was/is? a problem with the 512mb versions. josh256
Dual-display (at well beyond HD resolutions), HDCP + HD/TV <$80: 7300GT 256MB Gaming: <$175: 7950GT OC 256MB <$275: 7950GT OC 512MB Can't think of a single reason why to get a 7600 (vs. 7300/7950) [gaming is *not* a good 7600 requirement] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64277-graphics-upgrade-suggestions/#findComment-455314 Share on other sites
