jrp
Hey I installed osx86 10.4.5 on a partition on my external usb hard drive connected to my dell laptop. The installation went fine, but when I went to restart to complete the installation os x couldn't be found. My BIOS is set up to boot from USB Hard Drive first, then CD/DVD, then Internal Hard Drive. I also blessed the installation by connecting the external usb drive to my mac, and that didn't work. Any ideas?? ~pcwiz
When you partition the USB drive using Disk Utility on the installer DVD, you have to click the Options button and select the Master Boot Record option. This installs the bootloader to your HD. Without it, you can't boot OS X.
