Blue Matt
I had previously installed uphuck 10.4.9 v1.4i r3 with wireless but clock issues and audio lag so I tried Jas 10.4.8 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3 on the same machine and got everything else to work but no wireless. I was able to duplicate my old 10.4.9 driver on my Jas install but still no wireless. It's a Broadcom 14XX (I think) with 0x14e44318 device/driver id. Simply modify the uphuck IO80211\Broadcom kext plugin by adding 14e4,4318 to the srings in the Info.plist. I have a Dell XPS M140 running off a Maxtor external USB harddrive. It shows the wireless icon in the menu bar as if it's not connected, but the wirless light (beside the scroll lock) is off. Please any advice would be helpfull. edit:i can now get the wireless light on my laptop to light up by booting windows then Jas but still no wireless when you go to system preferences\Network Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64219-wireless-prblem/ Share on other sites

Blue Matt
Thanks a lot, I knew I had read this someplace, but I find it odd that you have to apply it when I had the same driver on a different installation. O and it's /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64219-wireless-prblem/#findComment-455282 Share on other sites

Blue Matt
Great I got almost everything working. But one. My Sony CD/DVD+/- RW Drive doesn't work. I can eject it (via the button on the side) and when I place a CD or DVD in it, it reads it just like it would if it worked but nothing happens. System Profiler says "No burning device was found. If you are using an external device please make sure that it is connected and powered properly." Thanks. edit: Apparently USB isn't working either. When I plug in a USB device (Finder, Dock, System Profiler, System Prefs, ect.) identify if fine. But when I open any application (iSync, TI Connect, ect.) they act as if it's not there. Blue Matt
Not sure how but I was able to fix the USB problem. Still leaves the CD/DVD issue. Anyone got some ideas.
