Linerider
I have a big problem with installing OSX86. I have read a lot of forms searching for answer but none of them helped me. That`s my computer: cpu : 2.4GHz, Core2 Duo, E6600 ram : 4x1GB, 667MHz, DDR2 hdd : 500GB, L2 16MB, SATA2, vga : GF8800GTS 640MB DVD±RW DL zap., SATA GigaLAN, Tv-out, USB 2.0 I read that I should change to AHCI mode when I am installing Mac on SATA drive So I downloaded the last version of bios and update it. But when I was trying to change to AHCI I just couldn’t find it anywhere in BIOS. After this I decided to Install OSX86 to Vmware. In a middle of installation my computer just froze so I downloaded already installed OSX form Pirate Bay. But OSX is so slow in vmware so I want to install it. When I put my Mac DVD in my computer and then press -v I get this: I just hope one of you can help me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64047-installing-osx86-problems/ Share on other sites
skyhighmac
I believe that your sata controller is causing the waiting for root device. Sabr has a guide here to install in vmware and boot in native. Your 4GB of memory might cause a problem, as I have heard reports of 3gb working and not 4gb. royco
What board do you have? I dont think your 8800GTS would fully work on OSX, no drivers yet( but its not whats causing your waiting for root device tho) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64047-installing-osx86-problems/#findComment-453638 Share on other sites
