Just a question, what type of dvd drive do you have (I have a P5K-e too)? A SATA one ? I can't get any of my disks to work (it's an IDE drive) (got JaS 10.4.8, some random 10.4.9 and XxX 10.4.10) all give the same com boot.plist error, starting to get the impression that it's my drive.

I'd deffo be interested in trying this though :)

Specs:

Intel C2Q Q6600

BFG 8800 GTS superclocked (Got a GF 6200 in atm as I'm trying out OS X)

2Gb Crucial Ballistix

Asus P5K-E

Samsung spinpoint S-ATA 250gb

LG Dvd Drive

Cheers,

ed: Just googled you dvd drive, seems to be a IDE, any tips on why none of the disks boot ? I've tried AHCI modes, on the j-micron controller.

Also sorry for the slight hi-jack -_- )

My Drive is IDE but I purchased an external USB case for it. That way I can use my old IDE drives as USB and the DVD burner. I install onto my SATA drive (that is in AHCI mode) make sure when creating the partition you select Master Boot Record in Options with the diskutility. With some installs you will need to boot back off the DVD go to the terminal and copy some .kexts over to get everything working and booting. the p5k is pretty easy to get going after that. the best install I have used was uphuck 10.4.9 v1.3 (even has the jmicron package in it)

Hey, sorry to bump this thread but it would be greatly appreciated if you could show me how you patched th kalyway leopard install to work with a Asus P5k-e, I had a go today, managed to get it to boot once, by changing the device id of the ICH8 device id/vendor id in AppleAHCIPort.Kext (the P5k-e uses the ICH9(R i think)) which has a dev id of 2922 and intel's 8086 = 0x29228086 iirc but that only worked/booted once, then on the next boot it couldn't find the root device in veribose :(

Any other info would be great + info on getting audio and ethernet to work would perfect!

Thanks
