stickybit
Hi Volks, i'm trying to install 10.4.3 8f1111 patched with JaS's 1111a Generic Patch v4.2b. i've also tried simplier selfmade images, 8F1099 and different bios and kernel param setting. i've also tried clean harddisk and to update a 10.4.1 disk. The older 10.4.1 could be installed out of box. It's allways the same: The kernel boots and when switching to the blue background the whole system hangs. The harddisk imedily stops reading. Theres even no rainbow circling Mouse-Cursor. With -v -x the kernel detects the Synaptics touchpad, but i've also tried to disable it and connect a usb-mouse. The last kernel message is, that it couldn't find any airport hardware. Then the screen switches into blue and stops. This Laptop has a Centrino CPU without SSE3, but with NX. Its a Intel 915 Graphic Chip. It would be kind if anyone could give me a hint. Here's what lspci says: 0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. ufulu
I also have a Samsung X20 with following specs: 1.6 GHZ, 2GB DDR RAM, Graphic: Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910 GML GMA Express Chipset Family shows up under OS X as a GMA900 with 256 VRAM I would advise you to get the OS X 10.4.7 DVD from JaS. After some trial and error this is how I got nearly everything to work: Connected monitor to Notebook Reset BIOS to default Booted from the DVD pressed F8 and then -v hit Fn+F4 twice klicked my may through the installation and 25minutes later OS X was up an running. Ethernet works but not if you restart from windows. Intel Wireless 2200 doesn't work Touchpad can't scroll. Sound good Video in Quicktime or VLC is slow and choppy in Fullscreen. Haven't found any solution to that yet.. . But appart from that, OSX is fast, stable and all programs work!
