LaGzo
Hi there, I'm new to posting here. Been reading a lot though. I've tried install osx86 using the Uphuck's 10.4.9 V1.4a DVD. I can get it to boot but I can't format it to HFS+. I keep getting a "Fail" error. I've tried doing it through Acronis then formatting it in the Disk Utility within the disk, still no dice. Might it be the nforce4/SATA thing? I've read that that is a bad combo. My question is what version is the most compatible with my laptop. It's a Compaq F572US. As of now I'm trying the tubgirl version, downloading right now to test. ~pcwiz
First of all, Uphuck's 10.4.9 V1.4a will not work on your computer. It is for Intel processors and your computer is AMD. But even then...I don't know if that can stop you from formatting the drive. Anyway, try tubgirl and see if you can format it. I have nForce4 SATA and I had no problem (well, I had issues but I got it working ) installing Uphuck 1.4iR3 on my computer. LaGzo
The description said for AMD processors only? I think there were 2 different versions. That version worked flawlessly for you? Do you have a link? I'd like to try it too. Edit - Nevermind it's for Intel :-/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63925-cannot-format-partition/#findComment-452291 Share on other sites
~pcwiz
Any 1.4 DVD is Intel only. If you want AMD support, get the 1.3 Universal DVD. Oh and posting links to torrents / copyrighted downloads is not allowed in this forum Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63925-cannot-format-partition/#findComment-452305 Share on other sites
