llamahead
I've been reading that the 512MB NVIDIA cards have problems with OSX86. I tried with Titan and Titan fails. I've read that the same thing happens with Natit. Have there been any updates regarding this? Can I edit a kext or something? I'd rather not flash my ROM. Any advice? GIBRONGIB
[if you are not afraid to flash your rom you can go here http://www.s155158671.websitehome.co.uk/nv...512cardrom.html and download a rom that will make you very happy irie
BJMoose
Yes, all nVidia cards with over 256mb must have their roms flashed to work properly with OSX86. It's pretty painless and the rewards are plenty.
llamahead
Sorry, I'm just now coming back to OSX86. If I flash my ROM, does that take somehow make the extra 256MB unusable when I boot in Windows? Also, can I flash it back to a standard ROM if I needed to? BJMoose
Card will act as normal under Windows...no changes. Yes you can always reflash it. Just save your original rom.
llamahead
My exact ROM is not on that site (Gigabyte 7950 GT), but will another 7950 GT ROM work?
Bimmer
I got my Nvidia 7600GS 512MB working under Leopard without flashing it, just use NVInject 0.1.4 Works very well for me.
llamahead
I don't see a 1.4 on this page: http://nvinject.free.fr/downloads.php Did you mean 1.5? And, do I install Natit or Titan first or does this replace those?
Bimmer
i guess they have a newer version. I only used NVInject. You do not need to use Titan or Natit. Make sure you have only your device id in the following kext's: Geforce.kext, NVDANV40Hal.kext, and NVDAResman.kext.
SA22C
I wouldn't use another 7950 ROM, you never know what the vendor may have changed. Best bet is to check out the procedure for fixing the ROM and do it manually. There's a good walkthrough on the NVInject site.
