lithium06
I have the same issue. i have a MSI p6n-sli with the same chipset i believe. i've tried uphuck's 1.3 and 1.4ir3 with successful install but it never boots or gets to registration screen, always kernel panic. i dont think uphuck's works with nforce chips? JaS .8 worked fine but would randomly lock up for me, so i was trying an update. GladiatorII
with nforce chipsets you have to use a noHPET kernel, .9+ kernel use cpus=1 as boot flag. hope this helps. lithium06
have you tried using cpus=1? what kernel panics are you getting? start out selecting the intel 10.4.9 kernel and other patches then boot with -V option and see what specific kernel panics it throws then reboot again into the install dvd and install the fix, repeat... bluedogmike
with nforce chipsets you have to use a noHPET kernel, .9+ kernel use cpus=1 as boot flag.hope this helps. Was wondering 2 things: 1) Why .9+ kernels require cpus=1 as boot flag 2) Will there ever be a way to use both cores (definetly a preference) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63732-uphuck-1049-vs-nvdia-680i-blues/#findComment-465484 Share on other sites
