mrxino Posted September 17, 2007 Share Posted September 17, 2007 Hi, I tried to install Uphuck 10.4.9 v1.4i on my Asus A8Ja notebook and during the install everything goed well... But after the installation is finished and i boot up my PC, the screen goes black. Also with -y -x the screen goes black. Some things i read while booting in debugging modus: VGA family specific matching failsLogin Window Application Started Adding browse domain local Now i have searched this forum and tried everything but nothing works I read something about deleting some ati files, but i don't know how to do that because i can't get into Mac OS X, not even in safe mode or something, so how do i suppose to delete anything if i can't get into Mac OS X? I also tried to connect an external screen but that screen is also black... I have an Asus A8Ja with an Intel Core Duo x2300 and an ATI Mobility x1600 videocard... To perform modifications, you could try to boot into safe mode. i think that is a -x parameter. Another way would be to have a dual boot and install macdrive 7 on the windoze partition and make the modifications from there, and enter into mac with -x mode to fix permissions, etc, there are two lines you have to write, at the end of the boot log. Either way, the work on the mobility x1600 is pretty much halted, for me neither boris nor ati inject work. Didn't try so far laptopdisplay.kext from np. My best instalation so far was to install without any ati modifications and boot into safe mode. Good luck and please post your progress.
