Hi, I've been reading along for quite a while now and finally want to install OS X on my laptop (1 HDD).

I've seen a bunch of guides on how to install the deadmoo image and I think I could figure those out on my own. But I am confused when it comes to installing 8F1111...

The version I downloaded is:

OSx86_10.4.3_Build_8F1111.3412703.TPB

Do I go about installing it the same way as the deadmoo image? How is this one different?

Can someone please point me on the right track here?

Thanks,

Ok I'm definitely getting closer, so please try to bear with me and help me figure this out. I don't want to screw anything up too bad.

so I now have this version of 8f1111a: macosx 10.4.3 JaS 1111a Generic Install v4.2b dvd

seems like it's the best one. I am installing on a dell inspiron 6000 laptop.... i'm aware of some display issues, usb issues and wireless, but those can all be fixed later on.

So from what I understand this version needs no further patching? please correct me if I am wrong.

I plan to install on a seperate partition, so i am going to have a 30GB C: with Windows Xp and would like to have the rest of my 80 for mac os x...

Do I leave the rest of the space as just unpartitioned?

Then I boot the dvd (which I can just burn right from the dmg on my imac?) and it should bootup normally? and i should be able to format and install from there?

And does it also install the program to dual boot? or do i still need to do additional things?

Please correct any of my mistakes / wrong assumptions.

Thank you so much to whoever takes the time to help me out.

-Steve
