I tried re-installing with the 10.4.6 JaS disk because I read about someone with my Athlon X2 processor installing with the SSE2 option, and having it work. That also worked for me, so now I have a stable 10.4.6 JaS install. As expected, my sound and wireless are not working. I want to get the wireless working first, so I don't have to keep booting to Windows to ask a question. I have a ZyXEL G-360 PCI wireless card with a TI ACX111 chipset. I know there are drivers for Linux, since Ubuntu recognizes the card immediately. Anyone know if there are OSX86 drivers for my card? As for sound, I have Realtek AC97. I thought I saw an AppleAC97.kext file or something like that, but it still doesn't seem to recognize the card... that's second to the wireless card in terms of importance however. ~pcwiz Posted September 22, 2007 Share Posted September 22, 2007 There are lots of different AC97 sound systems. Do you have a codec model number for your AC97. Should be like: Realtek ALCxxx xxx is where 3 numbers go. For example, my audio is Realtek AC97 but my codec is Realtek ALC850.Try and find that codec model. EDIT: Regarding your wireless, I found the driver installers for the Zydas USB Wirleless by ZYXel. Yours is an internaal card and the drivers are for an external USB wireless, but they are the closest to your wireless model I can find. Try out the Zydas drivers in this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34071 Scroll down to "Zydas" and follow the links to the installer packages. Also, I checked the ZyXEL site for drivers but I only found one for your card. It was some security driver. The OS is "N/a" Not Available. I have no clue what it is. My wireless card does not show up in any form under 'PCI Devices' in system profiler. The drivers on the ZyXEL site are only for Windows. Any other ideas? EDIT: My audio is Realtek ALC850. I have the same ALC850 and it worked for me As for your wireless, I really don't know what to do. I don't think you'll be able to use your wireless card with OS X. Did you check whether there were any settings in System Preferences in OS X for wireless? Check all the little applets. My room doesn't have an ethernet jack in the wall, probably because the previous owners didn't want their son/daughter to have a connection in their room. Actually, now that I look at it, I do have 2 RJ-45 sized jacks labled 'CAT 5e', so I'm guessing that if I were to somehow connect those in the furnace room (where all the networking stuff is), I could use them... Sorry, i'm just kind of 'thinking out loud'. Anyways, thanks for all your help throughout these frustrating days! And I'll try out the audio fix too.
