Esxuseme for the language, I'm Italian :)

i have installed OSx 8f1111 on my notebook (centrino 1.5) and it work fine if osx is the ONLY system installed

if I install OSX in the second partition and after that I want to install XP on the first partition, OSX won't boot !

I have put "chain0" in C: and I have added the string

C:\chain0="OsX X86"

to boot.ini

now when I start the PC I see

"Windows Xp Professional"

"OsX X86"

but If I choose "OsX X86" it does not succeed nothing! it return to the boot menu

"Windows Xp Professional"

"OsX X86"

what can I do? :)

PS: It is only a bootloader problem: If I boot with the install-DVD, it rewrite the bootloader and OSX boot fine (but with this way it boot ONLY osx)

boot with Tiger DVD and in the main menu, choose startup disk. then choose the windows xp folder. it will ask you to restart. restart the computer and darwin bootloader will give you dual boot option. you might have to edit the boot list if you installed tiger 1111a. read the wiki to learn how.

you boot.plist might look like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string></string>
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1280x1024x32</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>6</string>
<key>Boot Graphics</key>
<string>Yes</string>
</dict>
</plist>

I have the same problem, I choose Osx but it just goes black then right back, and when I try to do what you told him (Startup Disk) it doesn't even give me the option to choose the windows XP folder. All it lets me choose is "Mac Install DVD" or "Mac 10.4.3 on Mactop" which is just the OSX drive.

I can quickly push F8 after choosing "Mac OSX" at the bootloader and it will go to the Darwin bootloader which will then allow me to boot to osx, but is there any way to "cut out the middle man" and go straight to the Darwin bootloader?
