Local APIC Error

So, what does this error mean for hardware?

I can't get any USB card to work on my Haxintosh, as the onboard is dead (and disabled in the BIOS). No matter how many BIOS options are set, all I get is "Local APIC error". I am not sure if this happens to other hardware or not, it seems to be USB only.

the error is: panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A8ACE): Local APIC error

the error is completely random, but mostly happens at boot. Sometimes I can boot and use the USB card for 39 minutes before it crashes again.

What can be causing this? PLEASE respond! I can barely get a response here, and am a Mac user, been one for years, and never had this error before. All USB cards tried work on my PowerMac G3 without a problem.

tried an NEC card...interesting result.. when in PCI slot 1, problems arrise.. when in PCI slot 2, not so much... BUT, PCI 1 works for ethernet..(will someone smart actually reply please? I'm getting fed up now)Some USB ports on the card crash it, others don't.. depends on which port, and it will NOT allow me to hot swap a device, device must be connect prior to boot, otherwize it totally freezes, with no panic...
