matulike
Hi, I've got hold of the 10.4.9 'HOTISO' release. I've extracted it, and it's nearly 5.5GB .iso. Does anyone know if that's right? Should I burn it to a Dual Layer disk? Or have I got a screwed up image?! I'm downloading the uphuck image now, but that's only 1.06GB about. Isn't that gonna be missing a whole lot of content? I'm happily using 10.4.8 at the moment, but was gonna try a 10.4.9 install and 10.4.10 upgrade on my test laptop before going 'all the way'! Any advice on those images? Thanks. bluedragon1971
The HotISO 10.4.9 (and 10.4.10) images are NOT Hackintosh images, they are for real Macs. They are simply original install discs from either an iMac or maybe a MacBook Pro that have had the system check removed. Yes, you have to burn them to a dual-layer disc, as they include Xcode (which is removed from most Hackintosh images to get them down to single layer size). The Uphuck image is very small because he strips out all PowerPC code before making the images, along with a few applications that HE deems non-essential (although others tend to disagree about that).
