Hi, i just installed my first Mac OS X on pc (Uphuck 1.4a),

on an old Maxtor 20 gb harddrive (i also have 2x250 gb SATA drives).

It installes fine, but and OSX runs perfectly, but it freezes randomly (Freeze everything, but the mouse still moves perfectly).

So i thought, it was probably the old Harddrive.

So i bought a Brand new Seagate Barracuda 80 GB IDE harddrive, and went installing Mac os x on that.

But after i partitioned the harddrive with disk utility in the Install Process, and rebooted my machine, it froze up, during the HDD Detection, when you turn on the computer.

You know.

At the very beginning, where it detects bios, Harddrives etc.

It just freezes here. I cant even get on to boot from a cd, or get in to the bios.

But when i remove the harddrive, it works. :S

Then i tried to put the harddrive in one of my friends computers, and it worked perfectly. It did not froze. Then i tried to delete the partition on my friends computer, and put the Harddrive back in my computer again. And it did not freeze.

So i tried to partition the drive AGAIN from the mac os x installation (With the disk utility), and it froze again when i reebooted.

The funny thing is that this does not happen with the old Maxtor harddrive.

How do i get Mac os x installed on the seagate 80 gb, and preventing it from freezing during harddrive detection?

Here are my specs.

AMD Athlon 64 +3500

1 Gb Ram

Ati radeon x1950 pro

2x 250gb Seagate SATA2 drives

Seagate 80 GB Barracuda IDE

Maxtor 20 GB Ide

Mainboard:

MSI K8N Neo4-F (Nforce4)

Hope anyone can help with the harddrive, and the random freezing (With mouse still working :S)
