aldableep Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 i have an external drive, all (about 230 gb) of it is partitioned as ntfs. whenever i start osx i get a message saying i can't mount it. are some external enclosures not supported? does osx have problems with how big the ntfs partition is? tia for any help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

aldableep Posted September 5, 2007 Author Share Posted September 5, 2007 well the thing is it does recognize ntfs lol.. it supports reading of ntfs by default (it read my other ntfs partitions).. i have no problem not having write capabilities (i dont trust writing to ntfs unless its windows anyway).. it should mount properly in osx but its not.. any other ideas guys? hecker Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 OSX sometimes just doesn't recognize NTFS partitions well (at least not all of the time) and there isn't much you can do about it, except installing some third party software like skyhighmac recommended above.
