Hi everybody.

I am very new (and very excited) to this new world that is coming to me : OSx86...

After 3 different installs, I got Mac OS Tiger working on my laptop ;) !!

I installed JaS first, then Uphack and finally back to JaS 10.4.8 when I figured out I shouldn't be installing any video driver during the install.

So far so good... but...

I decided to begin tweaking the OS so that all my peripherals work OK. And to begin with the hardest part, I chose video drivers... by the way, mine is an ATI x1600 mobility. Last thing I tried is Natit from a very generous contributor to this forum : DiaboliK. Neither did this work ;) ... But sincerely, I am tired of installing the whole OS again and again to try the different methods and I would particularly apreciate if someone could post here a procedure on how to get back to a clean version of the OS (only with the generic drivers) from the command line... Actually, after installing Natit (and other drivers with different methods) I get a black screen and can do nothing more than reboot... When I start Darwin in verbose mode, I don't have the time to see everything, since the black screen also comes like if the OS was going to display...

My question is : I think the command to start the OS in single user mode is sudo. What must I type/do to "clean up" my drivers and begin with a default OS, to be able to test other methods ? This may also apply when I will be testing methods to install LAN, WLAN, Bluetooth, Integrated Webcam, Audio, etc...

If someone tested x1600 mobility, can he tell me which method he used and what is working (resolution, QE/CI, dual display, etc...)

Thanks in advance for your precious replies.

PS : my config: ASUS Z53J - 15,4" LCD - Core2Duo 5300 - 2 GB RAM - 120 GB HD - ATI Radeon x1600 Mobility

PS2 : I searched for a long time in this forum and in others and I found nothing. So please don't beat me if I missed an already posted hidden answer :P
