ripoflive
I just finished installing 10.4.3. I heard that there is better support for ATI (9000+). I have an ati 9000 and wanted to know if there is a way to force it to work (QE,CI,OpenGL, anything!!!!). I might even consider flashing my graphic card but i dont know what is the lowest graphic card needed to run QE/CI/OpenGL. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Technobob
Sorry to give you bad news but your out of luck like me. The lowest of the 9000 series that works is 9550 I believe. Don't flash your card it won't help. If you are running a desktop system you can buy a 9600 for about $75us or less. ripoflive
Dude, how does that make sense, I said im gonna flash my card to 9550. What does that have anything to do with a mac bios and all that junk? If i flash it to a 9550 it will work on both hardware. Sorry but you did not say that you are going to flash with a Intel video bios, you just said you were going to flash it. When you flash a video card you are changing the bios (also known as firmware) on the the card People here have tried to flash using a Mac bios and using Mac drivers and that does not work. The 9000 does not have the same core as 9550 so it won't work. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6215-ati-in-1043/#findComment-39013 Share on other sites
