alisabki
hi, guys... i just bought this DVD version of Mac OS X Server 10.4.7 x86. I try to boot with it. (after reading and reading the tutorials) finnally its time to restarting the pc. then i got this error: "Error Loading Operating System" my question is: is my dvd is not suitable for doing this job... or its must be 'patches' first? my system: Pentium D 2.8, 1gb ram, 2 hdd - 1 for 40gb and another 1 is SATA 80gb. But i just disable the 80gb for security reason. I just let the old one with 40gb capacity for this job... graphic: ati1600 pro, thanks.. ...//also, i've already looking for the faq's aat the wiki page. then i got this..... Gray_Matter
Unless you paid for a bootleg DVD of OSX86, you can't install any Mac distro of OS/X into a PC based computer, one thing you might want to consider is that the disk might be just a server upgrade for OSX. nargot
search the fourm, you can install the osx server packages on top of a hackintosh system. but you cannot install os x server from the retail dvd. after the packages have been installed you can upgrade via software updater and replace the kernel/smbios etc.
