pet1
Finally was able to get a working dvd media to burn 8f1111. Wow, these iso's are very picky with the media they use. Anyway, was using 10.4.3. Not sure of the build number, the one right before 8f1111. I was getting benchmarks that were crazy. Around 80. I have dev kit hardware just to note. I upgraded to 8f1111. I then used the 8f1111a patch and the score climbed up a few ticks. That's about it. So now, my score is around 65. It dropped around 15 points. Although, from what I understand, this new build has full g4 altivec support. And from what I've gathered that seems to be true. Toast 7.02 works fully, as well as final cut pro 5. These are apps that didnt' work with previous builds. Also removing installation check and volume checks were not necessary. They worked as though this was a regular working Mac. My question is. Even though there is a loss of score in benchmarks, does this mean that mean that it's actually working slower? With g4 altivec support. This basically means that everything is more compatable. So you can have a faster working build with less compatability, or a slightly slower one with a lot more compatability. Your thoughts.
