EpithetMusic
I'm trying to get Jas OSX 10.4.8 to install on a Toshiba A215-S4817 but when the installer loads there is no harddrive to install to. Disk Utility will also not see a harddrive. The hd is reconized in the bios. I currently have this install running on my cheaper toshiba laptop. I have a feeling that this new one has a sata hd and this could be the problem. My friend took out the harddrive and said that it was different than the other ones in his other laptops so we couldn't put it in a cashe'. The problem that I'm having is that I don't have a way to load a kext that will make the sata work. Please help! Thanks!
EpithetMusic
Please respond. Can I put the harddrive in another pc and install with the sata drivers and then put it back in the laptop? Will this work. Then I could just install over the previous install. Or is there a way to do it with an external harddrive or something?
donpro
Ok I am having the same problem. So far i have figured out a way to see the hard drive by taking it out of the laptop and installing it on a usb external case. It is corrently installing Tiger 10.4.8 so i will give you an update in a little while.
