loopster Posted August 27, 2007 Share Posted August 27, 2007 just recently installed 10.4.9 uphuck dvd and everything has been working smooth for a while now. today i booted up and first thing i noticed was that front row was not working. i went into the control panel to see if something was wrong and now they are feezing up and will not load. i thought i might try repairing disk permissions to see if that would help but even the disk utility is feezing too. everything else seems to be working on the system its just anything that has to do with the core system seems to freeze when i load it. i booted up the install dvd to repair the permissions that way but that didnt do a thing to fix the problem. any ideas what could be wrong?? loopster Posted August 28, 2007 Author Share Posted August 28, 2007 i have narrowed it down to being something to do with the keyboard/mouse i am using or something to do with escobar's front row hack. i have a logitech mx3000 desktop that i was using through the usb port. i unplugged that and used a usb to ps/2 adapter and plugged that in. that fixed some of the problems i was having. it dosent freeze as much now. another problem i forgot to mention was that i can be browsing the web or doing something while listening to music through itunes and its like itunes always has the window focus because whenver i press the enter key it pauses itunes and the arrow keys navigate the playlist. thius should be happending because my browser is on top and itunes is in the dock. i just can't figure it out. is there and way to repair osx's keyboard/mouse input?
