I've seen a lot of people modifying Linux distros to look a bit like OS X, an example is here. Just wondering, does anyone know of a linux distro to attempts to imitate Mac OS X out of the box?? Think it would be pretty nice, since I'm not a huge fan of GNOME look out of the box.

If such a distro doesn't exist (I have googled, butdidn't find much), how about creating one. Would it be difficult to modify say a Ubuntu install disc to install different themes, icons, and apps by default. For example, a dock application. Are any newer Linux releases coming with Compiz fuzion out of the box. Now that would be a nice 'out of the box' feature!

thoughts?

you can install any version of kde 3.5, then go to www.kde-look.org to get themes for everything.

style: use baghira

iconset: use glossy project

then you're done.

to more info go to: http://baghira.sourceforge.net/OS_Clone-en.php

I think we can use gnome with some graphical effect and avant windows navigator:

http://code.google.com/p/avant-window-navigator/

And, why not, compiz-fusion...

For the sound sheme, I think it's not hard to fond wav of ogg version of osx sheme :D
