JSn1™
I had 10.4.9, it was good. I have on my computer 1GB Ram, it is DDR2, it was detected as Normal Ram. However, I decided to return to 10.4.7 to try luck. Yes, in 10.4.6 my memory is detected as DDR2 and is the twice faster than in 10.4.9. The processor is recognized the same, what do I have to do or backup from 10.4.6 to get the same speed detection? Thanks! djXtreme
just a daft suggestion, have you benchmarked your pc under both versions? I know it may pickup wrong, but if your BIOS sets the speed correctly, it should run @ that speed? JSn1™
It's a little bit faster on 10.4.7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60847-ddr2-ram-detected-as-normal-ram/#findComment-432662 Share on other sites
bonestonne
of course it will be faster in 10.4.7, theres less background applications running to eat your RAM. i updated from 10.4.8 to 10.4.10 today and its acting a little more sluggish with iTunes [scrolling seems much choppier] however its normal, more resources will need more RAM. djXtreme
if its faster in .7, and your RAM only picks up correctly in .6, then its safe to assume that your RAM is working right!?!?! consolation
c'mon guys, you should know by now that apple profiler has been pretty much broken a few decimal points back. It does not matter; it's not a reflection of how mac os configures itself. Anyhow, mac os is RAM agnostic - that's taken care of at hardware/BIOS level. So, just stop clicking "about this mac" and be happy. JSn1™
I compared the Benchmark, there is no big difference. The difference is lower than 4 points. Hehehe, I will stop clicking about this Mac today.
