ecluley
Hi, i have installed osx on my pc using the Jas 10.4.8 dvd. Everything appears to work absolutely perfectly, except the volume control in osx. You can change the volume slider but the volume does not change. This is especially annoying as i bought an apple keyboard especially and the + & - volume buttons do not work either- the icon appears to say the sound is being changed but the volume remains the same. Any ideas anyone? i have an 775i65g motherboard, made by asrock with a core 2 duo e4300 processor. cheers. riws
Its the usual AC97 problem, no fix for that Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60822-volume-control-not-working-correctly/#findComment-431730 Share on other sites
Snerler
Sometimes I have to go to Ulitilies and MiDi settings to change from 6 channel to 2 channel audio, which will make the volume buttons work. riws
Buy a USB Sound Card!! Even a cheap USB Sound Card will be perfect over an AC97 Solution. Apple USB Audio driver for most USB Card works Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60822-volume-control-not-working-correctly/#findComment-432233 Share on other sites

riws
For this USB Phone, the description says "Mac OS X compatibility: Unknown support", but I think as a Sound Card will this USB Phone work, but the special Phone Function is questionable. As an example what I thought with cheap Sound: http://global.ebay.com/gbh/viItem?ItemId=260151569542 http://global.ebay.com/gbh/viItem?ItemId=200143590450 These cheap Cards have all C-Media USB Sound Chips, witch are compatible with OSX Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60822-volume-control-not-working-correctly/#findComment-432514 Share on other sites
