El Massman Posted August 19, 2007 Share Posted August 19, 2007 i've heard this is possible before somewhere. since my ipod is already hfs formatted i installed mac os straight to it but it's not being picked up by my bios to boot from. does the drive need to be formatted and wiped before installing? superman1101 Posted August 19, 2007 Share Posted August 19, 2007 generally it is recommended to format the drive with disk utility to Journaled, i'm not sure how mac formats the ipod, but it probably isn't ready to be booted from... you should format it with the disk utility. I've seen many people have trouble booting the installation even when they've used disk utility, generally because you have to select the drive to format and not the individual partition Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
