You need the D-Link DWL-G122 USB Wifi Adapter with Hardware revision C1, in order to get it working under Mac OS X.

The osx86 Wiki says on the 10.4.8 hardware compatibility list that you need the ralink drivers. How ever you do not need them!

Go to the d-link website: D-link.de and download the drivers for 10.4.x

Download page

Afterwards I installed the driver and set up the new interface under system preferences.

The problem with this driver ist, that people think they are connected to wifi network, even if they typed in the wrong key.

For some reason it only accepts wifi keys, in my case a wep key, in hex.

So type in the wifi key in hex and voilá, working wifi with the official drivers on your hackintosh.

If you need an ascii to hex converter, I used this on from the University of Hannover. klick
