OriginalMACNUT
I have a ati 9600 that works out of the box on 10.4.4 to 10.4.6 on my wife hack-in-a-box. I want to upgrade her to 10.4.9 or 4.10, but the 9600 is no longer supported on these builds. I replaced all the ati drivers, iopcifamily, iographics and iondvrsupport kext's. What am I missing to get this going? Callisto is installed an set correctly, with older builds, the artifact was slim to none. Solution to get it working thanks LARGO link= http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=43829&st=0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60214-ati-9600-on-1049/ Share on other sites
OriginalMACNUT
*BUMP* 227 views & no one knows what files I need? I just need a list of files that will work on the 10.4.9 Ati 9600 = 0x41501002 , works on everything but 10.4.8. I like to do a clean install & with 10.4.9 that's a must. Thanks for looking over the thread. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60214-ati-9600-on-1049/#findComment-428285 Share on other sites
OriginalMACNUT
I realize this is an old card, but I figured somebody would help. I've been at it for 3 to 4 days using file from 4.4 to 4.7 and still a no go. I think I'm missing something important though. pdotnet
I'm pretty new myself, don't know a lot about these custom drivers but i do know that the 9600 is the same gpu as the 9700 which is a more popular revision. So theoretically a driver for 9700 will work (if you have that option). OriginalMACNUT
I do appreciate your input, though I have all the file ( dating back to 4.1 ) I just need to figure out which versions I need to get it working, I was hoping that somebody else has had this problem before and they new how to solve it. I'm sure it's simple, but I guess changing out almost all of the kext has something to do with it, I might as well do a fresh install again and start from scratch. tracer bullet
i just installed uphuck 10.4.9 v1.3 on my system and after some trial&error with the kernel/patches i got it running my 9600 is working, too. at least i can select resolutions and have no mouse tearing, using callisto8 and adding my device ID following the directions in the callisto readme. no QE/CI for now, but i am working on it. if anyone has a very easy method for getting QE/CI & OpenGL working let me know!
