jetli
If anything goes wrong with my pc I can buy a part and fix it without too much cost. If something breaks on a mac ie dvd drive hard drive, then is it true that replacement drives are very expensive compared to pc ones, and does it cost alot to get the job done? I was seriously considering getting a mac but now I'm not sure as it seem everything is more expensive and I can't find any programs that do the same as windows(not including installing windows on mac) because why buy a mac if you are going to use windows more, and this will just increase the risk of viruses. Also is there no way to email apple to ask question about products as I have tried and failed? Thanks
A Nonny Moose
Whoever told you that is an idiot. And Macs are not more expensive...
Synaesthesia
Most things in macs these days are actually pretty-much off the shelf hardware. At fastmac.com you can get replacement dvd-drives. They're not that expensive. They're just the regular type, except they're slot-loading.
EFI
If you have Apple Care...pretty much any hardware failure/malfuntion will be a FREE replacement from Apple for 4 years (incl complimentary 1 year free support). Don't worry, I thought the same thing. Your more covered than you think you are.
