sensimeon
Currently using an Asus p5b which i have found to be nothing but a complete headache and waste of time. So in good fashion, im trading it up. I've been reading here and the HCL and I've narrowed it to a few mobos The main concern would be sound. input and reasoning would be greatly appreciated: GIGABYTE GA-P35-S3L GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R Any other mobos you think would work better would be great! fustyler
I've just built one with q6600, asus p5k-e mobo and 7600gs vid card. Uphuck 10.4.9 works, and I've upgraded it to 10.4.10 over the weekend. All is well. Run the script written by asap18 to get audio and LAN to work. The only thing that doesn't work is built in wifi on mobo. hackintom
Abit IP35-E, IP35, IP35 Pro are good OC boards. Not sure the three of those are 100% compatible. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...852&hl=Abit I'll go with a GA P35-DS3P (same PCB layout that the DS4 et DQ6) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60154-comparing-most-recent-motherboards/#findComment-427763 Share on other sites
sheeplover
As you can see I use the GA-P35-DS4. No that at least 2 channel-out is working it is an incredible compatible and stable board. Believing hackintom this is also an absolute overclocking monster. sensimeon
Newegg is so fast, i love it. Of course it did not work out of the box :censored2: I did however, find my way here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=26858 where i read/scanned the entire section, and with trying multiple options i have tried multiple installation options and even a few of my own. im a bit puzzled and starting to think it could be my dvd drive? the same problem i seem to be getting is that im unable to find a hard drive to install too. ive tried a seagate ide hooked to sata ive tried a maxtror sata when i change the options and try different bios settings i usually get a reboot screen.. can anyone lend me a thought or two on the subject... perhaps a quick tip! thanks everyone Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60154-comparing-most-recent-motherboards/#findComment-430005 Share on other sites
AlexeySob
I wonder, is there any MB that will work with Mac OS X without ANY problems? Also, will all the stuff like FW800, Sound, Ethernet, Raid work with Mac OS X or do I need to do some Linux-like tuning? 3phemeral
im a bit puzzled and starting to think it could be my dvd drive? the same problem i seem to be getting is that im unable to find a hard drive to install too. ive tried a seagate ide hooked to sata ive tried a maxtror sata when i change the options and try different bios settings i usually get a reboot screen.. can anyone lend me a thought or two on the subject... perhaps a quick tip! thanks everyone Have you tried setting your SATA drives to AHCI mode? It was necessary for me. I connected my SATA DVD drive+SATA HDD to the yellow S TA ports on the motherboard, the ICH9-R ports. This allowed me full speed access to the hard drive in OSX, as well as an easy installation on my GA-P35-DS4. Beware tho: if you have windows installed you will have to repair/reinstall it with the appropriate AHCI drivers loaded from the DVD that came with your mobo. See the manual for further instructions. If you need any further help, gimme a shout, i'll do my best Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60154-comparing-most-recent-motherboards/#findComment-430886 Share on other sites

sensimeon
Yay i got the ethernet to work. I'm going to write up a how to for people who really get confused.. In the meantime, im going to try to fix my resolution. Anyone know why the update of jas from 4.8 to 4.9 changes my cpu speed/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60154-comparing-most-recent-motherboards/#findComment-432684 Share on other sites
