bobmavric
hello all I have been a perfect and expert windows user, but i am planning to move to MAC since i see it cooler. I have aToshiba notebook (X86) and i am trying to install a 10.4.7 Tiger X86on it. I did install it but no audio . after so many searchs, i found the driver here, but as you see, it is a zip file. I opened it in MAC OS, but I don't know what to do. should i copy/replace file somewhere with some files? i copied some files that in error window had been written, exactly where they should be. after restart, there was no error window anymore, but still no audio. infact, there are so many files in this zip file, but i just copied 2 of them. (( Also, for your information, i downloaded 10.4.10 combo update, announced by software update. as soon as it installed, and on the first boot, notebook begins to restart and mac does not boot anymore. so I have to re-install older version again. No I am downloading stand-alone DVD of 10.4.9 hopefully to install on my both machins. X86 and X64 Core2 Duo.)) :censored2: could anyone please tell me where these files shuld be placed? Thank you so much indeed. Bob Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59978-help-to-a-complete-newby-in-installing-audio/ Share on other sites

bobmavric
Thank you for your message. Actually, as i said before, I am completely new to mac. so yes: I do not know how to load a kext file. I aperciate if you say how to do. My Notebook, is a Toshiba satellite A55, with an AC97 Audio codec. and since I am planning to put windows aside, I think you are right, I have to learn so many things about Mac. well, so that's why my system restarted after updating from software update. could you link me to those toturials? And I see that you are using a nVIDIA PCIE graphic card. I have a 7900 nVIDIA on my core2 Duo Machine. do you think 10.4.9 version (with 10.4.10update) I am downloading will install on it?
