yelloguy
Hi, I have a good usable install using Uphuck's DVD and I am loving every minute of it. There are a few minor niggles that I am trying to iron out. One of them is the missing battery icon. I have searched this forum and there are a couple of references I have found. One is a thread about my particular laptop (Compaq C551NR or C500 series) and the poster says he installed ACPI to fix it. I have not been able to find the ACPI package on the Uphuck's DVD so I am assuming that person found it on his JaS DVD. If my understanding is correct, then would someone be able to share it here? The other reference is in a thread about showing wrong 'remaining time' and that has been fixed by installing a PowerConfig package. Just for kicks I downloaded and installed it but didn't give me the battery icon. Any help would be appreciated. yelloguy
Awesome! The battery icon is now visible. However, the time still shows "Calculating..." But I have seen a thread discussing that problem. I think that thread has another version of power management bundle. In any case, I will do some more searching/reading and figure it out from there. Thanks very much. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59811-battery-icon/#findComment-426829 Share on other sites
tran.man48
sure thing. mine says "calculating..." also but I haven't figured out how to fix it, I think my battery doesn't support time calculation though, cause it doesnt show time in windows either Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59811-battery-icon/#findComment-426891 Share on other sites
