Configuration: Compaq Presario V3425AU (GN399PA) Processor type AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-53 • 1.70 GHz, 512 KB Level 2 cache Memory type 512x2 mb; DDR2 667 MHz Internal hard disk drive 160 GB; 5200 rpm Display size 14.1” WXGA High Definition BrightView Widescreen Display resolution 1280 x 800 Video adapter NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 6150 (Shared 287mb) Chipset nVidia C51M & MCP51 if yes, then which distro should he use? ( i mean uphuck 1.3/1.4i/ jas 10.4.8) any please do tell what all to select from the installation menu ( i mean kernel, drivers etc.) cause i was not able to get uphuck 1.4i to work on my dell inspiron 6400 . Grey-Echo Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 JaS 10.4.8 will certainly work comfortably on that computer. For installation, I recommend the following packages. They all come with JaS. - Anything that's labeled AMD. - The nVidia (NV40) drivers. That's about it, really. Anything else you might want can be downloaded later, but these settings and packages should get you into OSX quickly and nicely before you have to change anything. Tell me if you have any issues and I'd be more than willing to troubleshoot with you. Eesh Dewan Posted August 22, 2007 Share Posted August 22, 2007 it might not work if - correct me if i am wrong- the hard disk is sata. if i am wrong let me know, as i have a similar laptop and it comes with sata disk and no kext has been developed so far to let us install osx86 on it.
