JSn1™
Installed iWork '08 in 10.4.9. But when I try to apply the text effect "flame", I says that that effect cannot be used in this computer, any idea what is happening?
launchcontrol
How did you get iWork '08 to install on your 10.4.9 computer? I have the same version, and before it installs it says I need 10.4.10 (and quicktime 7.2) and quits. To answer your question....do you have Core Image and Quartz Extreme "supported" in the System Profiler? Also, I wouldn't think the Intel GMA950 graphics processor would be that limited to disallow an effect, but it may be possible.
JSn1™
I installed using a program called Pacifist, it open the iWork package and installs it. I have CI & QE enabled, don't know what's going on.
launchcontrol
Thanks JSN1! I used pacifist (extracted and then clicked to install the extracted file "iWork08Trial.mpkg" - which contains 4 packages) and it installed and now works! I tried the "flame" effect in keynote and it works for me. Is that the only effect that doesn't work? It could be the onboard gfx you have not being able to support this more advanced effect when compared to say Flip. Update: Vitti from the Applications section (see post #2) has the problem. He has the same onboard graphics chip, Intel's GMA950, and the Flame effect is greyed out. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=59377
