dainbramage
Hello all. I have an almost fully running system now, with Rosetta and Quartz Extreme, on an Intel 915G motherboard with a 3.2 Ghz P4 and SSE3. Applications work great, and USB also works fine (I've been plugging and unplugging USB drives with no problem.) I just can't get the networking working! My chipset is a Broadcom 5705KFB NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet. When I plug a cable into the port, the link and xmit lights flash, but OS X isn't recognizing it as an active port. If I go into the Networking control panel, I see that the Ethernet port is grayed out; if I delete it, I can't re-add it. Does anyone know what else I should be checking? Maybe there's a kext conflict of some variety? Or is there another way (a PCI card?) I could get networking running? dainbramage
try disabling pl;ug'n'play os in your bios - worked for me <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Turns out that didn't work - I think my chipset is incompatible. So I went the popular route and got an old PCI 3Com card and now everything's peachy.
