iWork08 and iLife08 require 10.4.10 - which upgrade works best?

Hello

I am trying to install iWord 08 on 10.4.9

I found on this forum

Do this install with Pacifist.

Then follow post # 12 easy!

I downloaded pacifist and installed it.

I can open package iwork'08.dmg

I found the file iWorkTrial.dist

I can extract it on the desktop

I get iWorktrial.dist there

Edit it to change OS version to 10.4.9

Save it on the Desktop

But then I am stuck! I can't go further

I would like to Write it back in the package.

So I use Install arrow, it says replace it ?I say replace

But it is not updated by modified file.

May be an athorization problem ?

original package file has -rw-r--r

I use administrative rights...

 

This is certainly a stupid question but please help

1. Extract all file using pacifist to certain folder.

2. Go to the folder and open "Package" folder.

3. You will find "iWork08.mpkg" file, right click and "Show Package Contents"

4. New finder window will pop up. Open "Contents" folder. You will find file "iWork.dist"

5. Open it with Text Editor.

6. Search function "hasOldSystem", and change "10.4.10" to your system version you currently have (e.g. 10.4.9).

7. Save. Then install the package.

 

It works for me. Hope it help.

Try update the AppleSMBios.kext. When I installed CS3, I think same thing happened. Then I update the AppleSMBios.kext and the problem solved.

You could update it just the way like you update kext.

But try on your own risk.

I have copied file AppleSMBios.kext then pasted into system/library/extensions/. But now, i can't not login Mac. Please help me!!! thanks any way

For Numbers 08:

 

edit /Applications/iWork '08/Numbers.app/Contents/Resources/Defaults.plist

 

and add

<key>AcceleratedCanvas</key>

<false />

 

 

For Keynote 08:

create /Applications/iWork '08/Keynote.app/Contents/Resources/Defaults.plist with just the

SFRAcceleratedCanvas part under -dict- or simply copy the Pages Defaults.plist to Keynote
