mimmo97
In the BIOS setup utility of my HP notebook (Pavilion zd7000) there is no option to disable Hyperthreading. Members of www.zd7000forums.com have confirmed this to be true. In Windows XP we can disable HT by setting "numproc=1" in boot.ini. In Linux with the boot option "NOHT" we obtain the same result. Can this be done in MacOSX86 10.4.3 (8F1111A)? Thanks in advance for your help. Technobob
Try Maxxuss latest test patch that has HT support. 39thRonin
I've not seen a way to use the commandline to disable HT. Having said that, if you feel that your HT capability is giving you problems, find Maxxuss' latest kernels (for SSE2 machines - though they work with SSE3 boxes as well) for one that will boot without HT enabled. mimmo97
Try Maxxuss latest test patch that has HT support. I'm using v2f kernel but it crashes often. I've read that v2e is much more stable but it requires to set HT OFF. Unfortunately, I can't turn it off. grabberslasher
Surely you can enable or disable the second processor in the Processor System Preference (after installing the CHUD tools from the Developer Tools)? That's where I do it.
