thegodfaza
I'm upgrading from my 8 year old 16-inch CRT to a 22-inch Widescreen LCD. I have narrowed my choices down to 2. 1:HP at BestBuy 2:ASUS at Newegg I would like feedback on which one is the best choice. I am leaning towards the HP one because my monitor is about to die any day now and I know Newegg takes about 1 1/2 weeks where I live. I don't know if I can go 1 1/2 weeks without a monitor / computer. Synaesthesia
They're both of similar quality, so make your choice on aesthetics and convenience. thegodfaza
I'm also wondering about the Responce Time of each monitor. I'm a gamer and am wondering if the 3 ms difference between both monitors will be noticable. Dell is 5 ms and ASUS is 2 ms. sheeplover
You should also consider a SAMSUNG 226bw. When I had to choose for my new lcds I took 2 of them. They give me the best quality I could find for a PVA-Panel ranging under $600. All ASUS MWxxx and VWxxx models failed completely when trying to calibrate them. The HP has a similar panel quality as the Samsung but it has a glossy screen which isn't the right choice for working purposes in a bright room with many windows. The folks at prad helped me also a lot. http://prad.de/en/index.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59325-feedback-on-new-widescreen-lcd/#findComment-422825 Share on other sites
thegodfaza
You should also consider a SAMSUNG 226bw. When I had to choose for my new lcds I took 2 of them. So I was looking around and found that I liked the SAMSUNG 226BW model more than the HP Model. I ended up buying it and I love this display. There is so much room on my desktop. Great color, brightness, and great responce time for an LCD. Two milliseconds. I recommend this display for anyone considering a 22 inch LCD. EDIT: The only downside is no HDMI port, but thats why they make DVI to HDMI cables.
