evanlugh
Firstly, I really appreciate you for looking. Anyhow, I had Vista, decided to put OSX86 on again (last year I did it). I downloaded the latest Uphuck release and burned fine. Installation went great, but it couldn't see my hard drive. I know alot of people have this problem . I've tried all the fdisk commands, f1 to activeate it, etc. I've even changed it from NTFS to Ex2,3, FAT32 and FAT13. This is really frustrating and should I get this working, I'll most certainly be donating to the Uphuck 'fund' and, should there be one, Insanely mac.. Also, Just tried DSL (damn small linux) but that wouldn't load for some reason ( so couldn't cfdisk). I need this computer running ASAP but don't want to put 'doze on it. Here are my specs as per request. HDD Seagate TONKA 1.5 Serial ATA Motherboard Form Factor * µATX Form Factor * 24.4 x 24.4 cm CPU Support * Intel Celeron D 3xx and 4xx models * Intel Pentium 4 5xx and 6xx models * Intel Pentium D 8xx and 9xx models * Intel Core 2 Duo models with LGA775 * 533 / 800 / 1066 MHz FSB Chipset * VIA PT890 Northbridge * VIA VT8237A Southbridge Hope this helps, need this sorting ASAP! Thankyou, in advance. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59278-wont-install-uphuck-neither-will-jas-urgent/ Share on other sites
knvb1123
I'm just wondering why don't you install it on HSF+ ? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59278-wont-install-uphuck-neither-will-jas-urgent/#findComment-422383 Share on other sites

knvb1123
Why don't you try JaS? JaS worked beautifully for me. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59278-wont-install-uphuck-neither-will-jas-urgent/#findComment-422407 Share on other sites
evanlugh
If you read above, I have tried JaS, it restarts when the thing goes " /:\" does it swirly part! Plus, it's approx. 6 months old, and to download the new-er version was 2 days, which is weird, but not something I have the time for. evanlugh
Sorry to bump, but I *really* need to get this sorted A.S.A.P. When I try to do the fdisk etc, I get ' Permission denied'. Might help explaining. Thanks again, appreciate it. knvb1123
Try installing Windows, and see if Windows can partition it. Then partition it like FAT or something. Then use Disk Utility with OSX setup and see if anything can be done. When I couldn't do anything with HHD on OSX I installed Windows (or Linux) and it started to work again. Sylph
Are you using the Disk Utility in the setup of mac os x? tkman
if it's not seeing your disk that probably because the install disc isnt recognizing your SATA controller. Have you checked the HCL to see if your motherboard is supported?
